Our Role
Third Sector Communication Strategies supports the Lab and its project teams of researchers and government agency representatives in effectively communicating findings from their research projects, which range from child welfare to corrections, education, employment, housing, food security and more. We developed a strategic communications planning process and provide personalized support to each project team to determine how research findings can be quickly translated into actions that can change lives and improve communities.
Our work kicked off at the Lab’s launch event with a presentation on communicating research findings to inspire action.
We built on this by developing a toolkit to guide the Lab’s research partners through the process of developing and implementing a communications plan to activate the findings from their research projects.
The tool includes step-by-step guidance on how to determine fundamental aspects of the plan, beginning with establishing actionable communications objectives and identifying decision makers, the context within which research findings will be communicated, key audiences, core messages and messengers, and the communications activities that can be undertaken to most effectively meet strategic goals. The planning template and personalized technical assistance help researchers and government partners to develop a communications strategy and move quickly to implement the plan.
